Real time characterization of optically active materials (through EWA) or optically inactive materials through RI change

Improvement of sensitivity of an optical sensor using plasmonic nanomaterials has been the research focus in the recent decades. U-FOS surface can be made plasmonically active through physisorption, chemisorption, or sputtering of nanomaterials such as gold or silver. In-situ growth or binding of nanoparticles can be studied real-time using U-FOS. Such characterization studies have been reported in [1, 2].
